Green Day Live @ L.A. Sports Arena. Dearly BelovedIt was a beautiful day in downtown L.A. on a Thursday night. I sat on an offramp watching street vendors slang bootleg Green Day shirts with a cool breeze on my face. My lil bro Mitch was sitting in the passenger seat staring into the great abyss with teenage angst. He was seeing Green Day for his second time. We saw them together back in 2008 when they were on their 21st Century Breakdown tour when he was 12. I personally have been following Green day since they came out with their album Dookie which gained them widespread popularity . This lil three piece, which started from humble punk rock beginnings, was quickly catapulted into rock stardom after their album American Idiot. Since then, they have taken to their roles as rock stars as Tigers take to their stripes. They have dealt with claims of selling out and not staying true to there core audience. Other hardships have included children, aging, public rants, drug and alcohol problems. Today, we see more mature Green Day and a post rehab Billy Joe Armstrong full of warmth and gratitude. Almost 20 years since my first Green Day show I am back in the crowd, ignited with passion, to see them for the umpteenth time with a nostalgic heart and an aging body.

With a mix of British California Rock, Helicopter has a unique sound. With everyone in the group writing and singing the bands material stretches across styles. The band has a sound many compare to some of the great classic rock bands. From stadium rockers to beautiful ballads and everything in between, Helicopter s songs and shows capture a wide audience. Drummer songwriter Matthew Moore came to LA from New Zealand looking to start a band. Once he met fellow Brit/Kiwi singer songwriter Johnny Kempt the project was under way. With the songwriting talents of Matt and Johnny the band had a strong start. It didn t take long to find the other two members, Helicopter was up and running in only a few months. Guitarist/Vocalist Bruce Makabenta had come to LA from the Philippines, he and Matthew met playing together in a previous band. Bruce s sound perfectly complemented where the new band wanted to go. New Jersey singer songwriter Stefano Capobianco had also come to LA to pursue his career when he met the boys at local jam sessions. So JD247 has the Canon 7D, and the XHA1, as well as some kind of Sony I do not like. Why am I telling you this? Because this new camera is just in our price range and there are a lot of features we love about the Blackmagic. I think one of the reasons we like it is it is a great Cinema camera and it does not have the price tag of 20k to get rolling with the RED stuff. We use the 7D for movies and the XH for interviews for the most part, however this interview deserved the quality of the 7D’s shot, so we used that for the NAB event. If you are a Pro camera guy like us let us know what you think of the new BlackMagic.
